Perch fishing continues to be good on Braddocks with an increase in both numbers and size showing up now. The pike fishing continues to be red hot and some are even reporting a few brown trout being taken. Irondequoit Bay has been steady for both perch and pike.

Again we caution all ice fisherman to take the necessary precautions before stepping out onto the ice! Better safe than sorry.

Remember if you do go ice fishing this year that you have your license on you at all times and a valid receipt handy for any live bait that you purchase. This receipt will be needed to present to the DEC certifying the bait is VHS free.

Lastly, stay safe out there. Do not venture near open water or push the limits in this extreme weather sport. Take the necessary precautions to ensure a safe and memorable day on the ice. As obvious as the above advice may sound, every year there are incidents that occur that could have been avoided if only a little common sense and safety precautions were taken.
